Microsoft® Windows Vista is Here! But Are You Ready?
By Paul Burton - Guest Author and Technical Writer
2007 has arrived and with it comes the next operating system from Microsoft. Windows Vista is due to be on store shelves January 30th. It sports a very different visual "experience" and Microsoft touts loads of upgrades.
But is now the time for you to upgrade? Well, you will almost certainly have a compelling reason to upgrade eventually. Perhaps this will happen when you find yourself wanting a new piece of hardware that has no drivers for Windows XP. Or you may find yourself with a whole new computer, worthy of Vista features at a time when you are willing to tinker with the changes. Or perhaps the time will come when Windows XP is no longer available. It may be quite a while before any of these things occur.

A Quick Bit About Dual-Core Processors
By Paul Burton - Guest Author and Technical Writer
What is a dual-core processor?
Dual-core processors combine two separate processors, along with their individual memory caches, on a single chip. This does not mean that your processor speed doubles. It means you have another processor to share the processing burden, which, for the most part, helps streamline your computer's performance when you're using multiple applications concurrently.
It's actually a little better than that sounds. Remember, Windows itself is a program, and so is your antivirus. Better still, lots of programs today (though not all) are capable of splitting up whatever they do into multiple separate threads that run at the same time.
Dual-core processors will not help you type faster, send email quicker, or generally improve your personal work performance. It will increase the processing speed of your computer, which will make it run more efficiently.

Get out From Behind Your Desk and in Front of Your Clients
If you're like most small business owners, you know that the best, most valuable use of a free hour is not made from behind your desk but in front of your clients. However, in reality, your time probably gets spent on the hundreds of critical administrative tasks that sustain your business operations when you could be out growing business. With all this busywork eating away the hours, how can you realistically make more time for your clients?
Consider all the things you could do for your business if someone handed you an unscheduled hour. Or several unscheduled hours? The ideas are endless, right?
